Rarely do I wake up on a Monday morning with so many thoughts racing through my mind or the energy to accomplish all on my to do list. It usually takes until lunch (or sometimes even to Tuesday...) to feel as though I can conquer the world, or at least another week. But today, I am wide awake and ready to go. Hence the 8:30am blogpost. Since when does that happen? Oh yeah, never.
I just have the feeling this week is going to be big. It already looks full but not in a draining sort of way. My directing scene goes up on Friday, something I am both excited and nervous about, and I brought out all of my Halloween decorations this weekend. Time to spiffy up the apartment for this spooky holiday. But first, it's work then classes this morning, then a workshop/session with John Patrick Shanley, the playwright. So much to do and it's only 8:32 in the morning!
Also, this morning I came across a few verses that sat particularly deeply with me. I'm sure I had read them or heard them before but they met me where I am today and they are definitely worth sharing.
"Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions... Behold you delight in truth in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart... let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have broken rejoice." Psalm 51: 1, 6, 8
"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit." Psalm 51:10-12
"The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise." Psalm 51:17
Wow. Just... wow. Isn't God good? He is ever-faithful! Praise Him for that because we are the impatient, flawed, and sinful ones and yet He still wants to use us and draw us near to Him. He is unlike anyone else and far above all.
Just a few things to think about this week. This busy, busy, beautiful week! Amidst the business are a few projects I am hoping to accomplish this week. Yes, I know, ACTUALLY making something I pinned on Pinterest. I feel like that is a huge accomplishment.
Until next time,
